White wine is a type of wine made by fermenting the juice of grapes without their skins, which is what gives it its pale colour. Although it's typically made from green or yellow-skinned grapes like Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, or Riesling, it can also be produced from red-skinned grapes—as long as the skins are removed before fermentation.
