Scotch Whisky Single Malt

Scotch single malt whisky is a premium style of whisky made in Scotland from 100% malted barley, distilled at a single distillery, and crafted using traditional copper pot stills. To qualify as Scotch, it must be distilled and matured in Scotland for at least three years in oak casks and bottled at a minimum of 40% ABV. The term “single” refers to the fact that all the whisky in the bottle comes from one distillery—not necessarily from a single batch or barrel. Distillers often blend multiple casks of varying ages to create a consistent flavour profile that reflects the character of their house style. The “malt” part means the whisky is made exclusively from malted barley, without the addition of other grains.

Scotch single malts are prized for their depth, complexity, and regional diversity. For example: Speyside malts tend to be fruity and elegant. Highland malts range from floral and light to rich and peaty. Islay malts are famously smoky and maritime. Lowland malts are often soft and grassy. Campbeltown malts are bold and briny.
