From the elegant Bordeaux region of France comes this Chateau Couronneau, made with Merlot grapes grown on the highest point of the Gironde. The result is a Merlot with rich flavour and excellent terroir, and a wine that makes for a perfect gift. This vintage is best when aged, between 3 and 5 years. The oak aging gives the wine a deliciously woodsy flavour, but without affecting the earthy notes for which Merlot is famous: tobacco, tar, cherries, plums, and dark red fruits.
