Wolfburn Distillery is located in Thurso, Caithness, one of the most northerly whisky distilleries on the Scottish mainland, reviving the legacy of the original 1821 Wolfburn Distillery. The Northland 8 Year Old is matured exclusively in American oak quarter casks, which accelerate the interaction between spirit and wood, delivering a rich, rounded character in a relatively short maturation period. Bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration and without added colouring, preserving the full integrity of the spirit.

Tasting Notes

The nose is initially sweet with notes of fruit and fresh sea air, with citrus freshness, hints of cereal, and just a trace of peat smoke in the background. On the palate, sweet and nutty tones come to the fore, with hints of grape and honey, floral flavours, and a touch of dried fruit and spice. The finish is soft and sweet, fading gradually with a gentle trace of peat smoke at the very end. Best enjoyed neat or with a small drop of still water.
