To What Matters

Since 1897, a quiet revolution has been unfolding in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, where patience, a gentle hand, and a passion for purity are paramount. In this idyllic spot, the naturally soft water of the Alt-na-Frith burn is combined with tender Scottish barley. Later, a mellow, fruity spirit is born from the tall, slim copper stills of the Tomatin Distillery. Gentle maturation high above sea level allows the subtle character of their distinctive Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky to emerge.

Tomatin is more than just another whisky distillery. Since its inception in 1897, its people have worked hard to build a strong community that lies at the heart of everything they do. They produce quality single malt and blended Scotch whisky in an area of stunning natural beauty with rich whisky-making traditions dating back to the 1500s.

The Tomatin Core Range

Our core range of single malt whiskies takes us on an inimitable journey of age and cask maturations, each one bursting with flavour and unique characteristics while showcasing the classic Tomatin house style; unpeated, light, soft and fruity.

In 1897 Tomatin was nothing but an isolated and idyllic setting for a distillery. Its only inhabitants were scattered shepherds and cattle drovers. Tomatin saw that they needed to forge their local community and so the distillery was born. Since then the distillery has been at the heart of the community and the community at the heart of the distillery. The Legacy was distilled from what matters. The recipe for Tomatin Legacy was created by the staff who live on-site at Tomatin Distillery, boasting a lighter, delicate profile from the softer side of the Highlands.

Unlock The Unusual

A celebration of the subtleties of smoke and perfectly balanced sweetness, Cù Bòcan is an experimental Highland Single Malt that explores innovative finishes to create whiskies full of intrigue and surprise. Cu Bocan is made with lightly peated Scottish Barley, distilled every winter in limited batches and matured in a variety of interesting casks to unlock unusual flavours.

In the whisky that made their name, light smoke intertwines with rich citrus and exotic spices. Subtly smoky, surprisingly sweet, it opens up the world of lightly peated whisky.

The Cù Bòcan Creation series pushes the boundaries of Scotch whisky with experimentation, whilst still paying homage to its protective heritage. A leading innovator in cask selection, Cù Bòcan were the first to use Japanese Shochu casks for maturation for their single malt, a previous Creation release in 2019; Creation #2.

The tastes and smells of a Moroccan Souk are brought to life with the exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon casks used for the Cù Bòcan Creation #3, offering notes of rose water, strawberry and black fig, whilst the North American Rye casks bring the exotic spice, citrus and tropical fruits to the fore.

Cù Bòcan Creation #4 is a nod to The Antrim Cocktail, marrying two of Europe’s most revered drinks, Port and Cognac. The end result is a medley of plum jam, grilled peach, stewed forest fruit, cinnamon and sweet campfire smoke.
