Meet the Producer

Founded in 1993 by Tino Colla and his niece Federica, Poderi Colla is a family-run estate in Piemonte. With a reputation for high-quality, vineyard-focused Barolo, the winery continues the legacy of the legendary Beppe Colla while producing wines that express the unique terroir of Monforte d’Alba.

Production

This Barolo comes from the Dardi le Rose single vineyard on Bussia hill, with vines planted at 300–350 metres above sea level and a southern/southwesterly exposure. Grapes are harvested mid-October, destalked, pressed, and macerated on skins for approximately 15 days before malolactic fermentation. The wine is then matured in Slavonian and French oak casks (part new) for 24–28 months, developing complexity, structure, and longevity.

Tasting Notes

Aromatic with fresh red fruits, dried figs, and spice, complemented by herbal and mineral undertones. The palate is complex and balanced, featuring bright redcurrant fruit, fine tannins, and refreshing acidity. While approachable now, this Barolo will continue to evolve and improve for many years.

Pairs beautifully with veal chops, buttery egg pasta with shaved black truffle, and rich fish dishes such as roast turbot. Perfect for special occasions and gourmet dining.
