Mezan is a limited collection of rums. Unsweetened, uncoloured, unchill filtered and aged in casks until they reach their optimal maturity. Mezan represents the purest and most authentic style of the Caribbean's rums.
This very special limited edition was distilled at the Diamond distillery with molasses in 2007 and matured in ex-bourbon casks, finished for the final year in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks and finally bottled in 2019 at the age of 12. A total of 3 years tropical ageing and 9 years European ageing.
Notes of raisins, orange, tropical fruit mixed with malt loaf and a hint of classic PX sherry cask treatment.
The Diamond Distillery is in Georgetown, Guyana. The distillery produces rums from the local Demerara molasses using its own proprietary strain of yeast. The distillery facility has become the home of many famous single estate stills that fell under the umbrella of The Demerara Distilling Company and this rum is blended from spirit produced by several of these column stills.
Displayed in a delightful wooden frame box and supplied with a cotton bag.
