Cachapoal Valley wine is shaped by warm days, cool Andean nights and varied soils that help Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah develop richness, spice and balance. This creates expressive wines linked to Chile’s central valley traditions.
Carménère and Cabernet Sauvignon dominate, with Syrah, Merlot and Chardonnay also thriving. These grapes flourish in areas such as Peumo and Requínoa, offering a wide range of Chilean wine styles.
Peumo’s warm climate, clay soils and cooling evening breezes create ideal conditions for Carménère, producing some of Chile’s most refined and aromatic examples. Its reputation has helped define the valley’s identity.
Many Cachapoal reds age beautifully, especially Carménère and Cabernet Sauvignon from top sites. Their structure, ripe fruit and natural freshness allow them to develop complexity over time.
