Niepoort 10 Years Old Tawny is a beautifully aged Port, blended from wines averaging ten years in small oak casks. The extended maturation imparts the characteristic tawny colour, a complex aromatic profile, and a refined, persistent bouquet. Meet the producer

Niepoort, a family-owned estate in the Douro and Porto regions, has a long tradition of producing distinctive Ports. Their Master Blender, José Nogueira, carefully selects and marries wines of different ages to achieve balance, richness, and elegance in each blend.

Production

The Port is aged in 550L old oak casks in the cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia for many years. The art of blending Tawny wines of varying ages ensures complexity, freshness, and harmony in both aroma and palate.

Tasting notes

The wine displays a tawny colour with aromas of dried apricots and crystallised tangerine peel, perfectly integrated with nutty notes. On the palate, dried fruits are complemented by a fiery, spirity finish, alongside hints of orange and lemon peel, caramel, and honey. Full-bodied and luscious, it offers a long, subtle, and persistent finish.

Food match

Pairs beautifully with dried fruits, nuts, and almond-based desserts. Ideal with desserts incorporating eggs, pies, coffee, or vanilla. Slightly chilled, it can also serve as a refined aperitif.
