Vineyard & Production

The fruit is hand-harvested from a single old-vine block planted in 1960 on granitic soils in the Paardeberg. Upon arrival at the cellar, the whole clusters are gently pressed directly into seasoned French oak barrels. Fermentation occurs spontaneously using indigenous yeasts without the addition of commercial enzymes or agents. The wine remains on its fine lees in neutral oak for around ten months to build natural texture and complexity before being bottled with minimal filtration and sulfur additions to safeguard its authentic character.

Tasting Notes

In the glass, it presents a luminous pale gold colour. The nose is complex and intriguing, opening with scents of yellow apple, white peach, and lime zest, interwoven with hints of wet stone, bruised chamomile, fynbos herbs, and a subtle touch of raw honey. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, taut, and superbly focused, delivering concentrated orchard fruit and citrus flavours anchored by a striking streak of granitic minerality and electric natural acidity that carries into a long, saline finish.
