El Enemigo is the personal project of winemaker Alejandro Vigil and historian Adrianna Catena, created to honour Argentina's winemaking heritage while pushing boundaries with meticulous, terroir-driven techniques. Known for producing some of the most characterful and age-worthy wines in South America.

Production

Made from 85% Cabernet Franc and 15% Malbec from the high-altitude El Cepillo vineyard on marine limestone. The grapes undergo barrel fermentation and an average of 23 days of cold maceration, with 30% whole bunch fermentation to enhance complexity and structure. The wine is aged for 15 months in 100-year-old foudres, allowing gentle integration and development of remarkable depth.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby in colour, the wine presents aromas of muddled blackberries, leafy tobacco, herbs, and subtle mineral notes. The palate is beautifully balanced with great structure, fine-grained tannins, and a grippy finish. This wine has excellent ageing potential and will reward cellaring.
