Casali del Barone 150+1 Barbera is an expressive red wine from Piemonte, Italy, crafted to showcase the varietal character of Barbera. The grapes are hand-harvested and meticulously sorted in the cellar to ensure only the best fruit is used. Fermentation occurs at controlled temperatures, followed by a 10-day maceration on the skins with daily pump-overs to extract colour, flavour and structure. The wine is then aged in large wooden barrels for three months, allowing the flavours to integrate and soften.

Casali del Barone focuses on producing approachable yet refined wines that capture the essence of Piemonte, blending traditional methods with careful vineyard management. Their philosophy centres on expressing the natural character of each variety with minimal intervention.

Production

Grapes are hand-picked and sorted before fermentation at controlled temperatures. Maceration on the skins for 10 days with daily pump-overs extracts colour, structure and aromatic depth. The wine is then aged in large wooden barrels for three months to develop a balanced structure and rounded texture.

Intense ruby-red in colour with floral aromas and subtle notes of ripe red fruits. On the palate, full-bodied, round and soft with hints of dark chocolate and a persistent, slightly spicy finish.
