Alo Jais Noir Carignan, IGP Côtes Catalanes is a bold, expressive Carignan Noir sourced from old bush vines growing in the wild, sun-soaked landscapes between Corbières and the Mediterranean. These low-yielding vines and the region’s distinctive soils produce fruit of remarkable intensity and purity. Meet the Producer

Maison Boutinot has been exploring, crafting and championing wines across France since 1990. What began as a simple mission to vinify, bottle and label their own cuvées has grown into a deep, hands-on partnership with growers and vineyards throughout the country. Their team—led here by winemaker Guillaume Létang—seeks out exceptional parcels that express authenticity, regional identity and drinkability.

Production

Winemaker Guillaume Létang ventured further south than ever before, exploring the rugged landscape between Corbières and the Mediterranean in search of characterful Carignan. The old bush vines he discovered deliver naturally small yields and intensely flavoured fruit. Fermentation and ageing in stainless steel ensure purity, vibrancy and a vivid expression of Carignan Noir free from oak influence.

Tasting Notes

This wine is strikingly intense and complex, offering concentrated dark fruit, understated tannins and a silky, enveloping mouthfeel. The distinctive soils and low-yielding vines imbue the wine with real personality. As Guillaume says, this is a “must-taste” Carignan.

Perfect with duck confit or slow-cooked shoulder of lamb. For a vegetarian pairing, a hearty lentil and bean stew complements the wine’s richness beautifully.
