Spring Wine Tasting 2026: Sun, Sails, and Sensational Sips

The annual event of our Spring Wine Tasting 2026 made a triumphant return to the National Maritime Museum, marking our third consecutive showcase at this stunning waterfront venue. Bathed in spring sunshine, guests enjoyed an evening overlooking the glistening water and the elegant yachts bobbing in the harbour the perfect backdrop for discovering a new seasonal favourite.

Following the momentum of our previous shows, the energy this year was palpable. Early bird tickets sold out in record-breaking time, proving that our community’s appetite for curated, high-quality tastings is stronger than ever. It was a pleasure to welcome over 130 guests, blending familiar faces from our wine club with plenty of newcomers eager to explore our latest finds.

This year, we also introduced something brand new to the event. We invited Dan from The Cheese and Compass, a fantastic local business, to host a dedicated cheese stand. Guests were able to browse and buy a selection of cheeses, chutneys, and crackers specifically chosen to pair with the wines on pour. It was a brilliant addition to the evening and incredibly well-received by our customers.

This year’s curation focused on freshness, vibrancy, and the joy of "stepping outside" for the season. With over 100 wines on pour, ranging from crisp coastal whites to elegant and chillable reds. the room was buzzing with discussion and discovery.

Staff Picks of the Night

Part of what makes our shows special is the diverse palate of our team. Here is what caught the eyes (and taste buds) of the staff during the Spring 2026 showcase:

Mark’s Choice: Henriot Blanc de Blancs Champagne

"For me, this represents superb value for a premium Champagne. It possesses a great freshness and citrus-driven elegance that is absolutely perfect for sipping as the weather warms up."

Andrew’s Choice: La Rioja Alta Viña Ardanza Reserva

"It was fantastic to taste the most recent vintage of this iconic wine. Even as an 'entry' wine to the prestige of La Rioja Alta, the quality and winemaking remain consistently world-class."

Jon’s Choice: Meerlust Red

"A true rediscovery. I hadn't tasted this in many years, and it reminded me instantly why South African blends are so compelling. It was a highlight for many guests on the night as well."

Sam’s Choice: Boutinot 'Celiane' Coteaux du Thau Rosé

"We sell huge volumes of this to our trade partners, so I figured it was finally time I sat down and tried it properly! I can completely see why it’s so popular, it’s the quintessential spring rosé."

Helen’s Choice: Seahills Sauvignon Blanc

"I was looking for that perfect 'after-work' bottle. This hits a fantastic price point while delivering all the crisp, punchy fruit you want from a reliable Sauvignon Blanc."

James’s Choice: Tirecul La Gravière 'Les Pins' Monbazillac

"If you have a sweet tooth but demand finesse, this is the one. It has all the honeyed richness of a great dessert wine without ever feeling heavy on the palate."
