Vineyard & Production

The grapes are hand-harvested from low-yielding, high-altitude vineyard blocks planted on decomposed granite and sandstone soils in the Banghoek Valley. After strict sorting in the vineyard and winery, the fruit is destemmed and gently crushed into stainless steel tanks. Fermentation occurs under controlled temperatures with careful pump-overs to extract colour and fine tannins gently. The individual varietal components are matured separately for around eighteen to twenty-four months in select French oak barrels (a combination of new and second-fill) before the master blend is assembled and bottled.

In the glass, it presents a deep, dark ruby-plum colour with a vibrant garnet rim. The nose is complex and expressive, offering rich aromas of ripe blackcurrants, dark plums, and black cherries, seamlessly layered with notes of cigar box, dried herbs, dark chocolate, and a touch of graphite minerality.
