Wolfburn Distillery was established in 2013 in Thurso, Caithness, on the site of the original Wolfburn Distillery that operated in the 1820s, making it Scotland's northernmost mainland distillery. This 2022 release is crafted from lightly peated spirit matured in a hand-selected combination of Oloroso sherry butts and ex-bourbon quarter casks, bottled at natural cask strength of 58.2% ABV without chill filtration.

Tasting Notes

The nose is sweet and aromatic, with Oloroso sherry richness, soft bourbon vanilla, and a gentle waft of peat smoke. On the palate, it is smooth and rounded for its cask strength, with layers of dark fruit, toffee, and warming spice from the sherry casks, underpinned by a soft, lingering peat smoke from the lightly peated spirit.
