Moving far away from heavy, over-oaked styles of the past, this bottling represents the modern South African movement toward fresh, floral, and low-intervention Pinotage, highlighting bright fruit purity and gentle spice.

Vineyard & Production

The grapes are hand-harvested from mature, dry-farmed bush vine parcels in the Swartland. Upon arrival at the cellar, a portion of the fruit is kept as whole bunches while the remainder is destemmed to open-top fermenters. Spontaneous fermentation occurs using indigenous yeasts, with light hand punch-downs to ensure gentle extraction of colour and fine tannins. The wine matures for around ten months in seasoned French oak barrels and concrete vessels, allowing it to develop textural elegance without masking its pure primary aromatics.

Tasting Notes

In the glass, it displays a bright, translucent ruby hue. The nose opens with an inviting and lifted bouquet of red cherries, wild raspberries, and cranberries, complemented by fragrant notes of dried rose petals, rooibos tea, sweet spice, and a hint of dusty earth. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, energetic, and lithe, offering juicy red fruit flavours framed by fine, chalky tannins and a lively streak of natural acidity that carries into a smooth, clean finish.

With its vibrant red fruit core, bright acidity, and supple tannins, this modern Pinotage is exceptionally versatile at the dinner table.
