Ventisquero Grey Sauvignon Blanc is a refined and expressive white wine from Chile’s coastal Huasco Valley, crafted to capture the full character of a single vineyard block. Hand-harvested and carefully selected under the direction of winemaker Felipe Tosso, this wine showcases the purity of the Sauvignon Blanc grape alongside the distinctive influence of Chile’s northern desert climate. Fresh citrus aromas are complemented by a delicate saline edge, offering remarkable freshness, balance, and finesse.

Meet the Producer

Ventisquero, meaning glacier in Spanish, pays homage to Chile’s icy Patagonian landscapes. Guided by innovation and sustainability, the winery produces terroir-driven wines that reflect the diverse climates and soils of Chile. Under the leadership of winemaker Felipe Tosso, Ventisquero crafts elegant, expressive wines that celebrate their origin.

Production

Grapes are hand-picked and meticulously selected to ensure only the finest fruit is used. The must undergoes a cold maceration for six to eight hours, fully protected from oxygen to preserve its bright aromatics. Fermentation takes place slowly at controlled low temperatures, enhancing the variety’s fresh, mineral-driven expression and highlighting the purity of its northern desert origins.

Maturation

Following fermentation, the wine is aged on fine lees for ten months, with gentle bâtonnage to develop texture and complexity. No oak influence is used, maintaining a focus on crisp fruit and coastal minerality.

Tasting Notes

Pale straw in colour with bright green reflections, this Sauvignon Blanc opens with aromas of lime, grapefruit, and citrus blossom, layered with subtle saline and mineral notes. The palate is vibrant and elegant, with refreshing acidity and a long, clean finish.

Food Match

Serve chilled at 7–8°C. Perfect with oysters, sea urchins, ceviche, and fresh seafood, as well as light fish dishes and delicate white meats.
