Taylor’s LBV (Late Bottled Vintage) is a high-quality, ready-to-drink Port, developed as a refined alternative to Vintage Port. It combines the richness and depth of Vintage Ports with early accessibility, offering a complex, polished style that exemplifies Taylor’s house character.

Meet the producer

Founded in 1692, Taylor’s is one of the oldest Port houses, renowned worldwide for its expertise in blending, ageing, and bottling exceptional Ports. The LBV category was pioneered by Taylor’s to provide a high-quality, approachable style of Port that does not require extended bottle ageing.

Production

Grapes are drawn from Taylor’s own vineyards and top properties in the Douro Valley, including the Cima Corgo and Douro Superior regions. Following traditional vinification, the wine is aged in oak casks for four to six years before bottling. This extended ageing develops richness, complexity, and a smooth, integrated palate while maintaining a vibrant fruit character.

Tasting notes

Deep ruby with a vivid rim, the nose reveals layered aromas of strawberry jam, cedarwood, resiny herbs, leather, and subtle mocha notes. On the palate, taut yet smooth tannins provide structure, supporting a long, elegant finish with a surge of rich dark berry flavours. Complex and poised, Taylor’s LBV delivers a refined, classic Port experience.

Food match

Ideal as a finish to a meal, served in a large wine glass to capture its full aromatic profile. Complements fully flavoured cheeses, especially blue cheeses, and desserts made with chocolate or berries.
