Taylor’s Historic Collection IV ‘The Globe’ is a Reserve Tawny Port that exemplifies the richness and complexity of aged Ports. Crafted from a selection of traditional Douro grape varieties, the wine is matured in seasoned oak casks for extended periods, allowing the development of elegant amber hues, mellow flavours, and a smooth, luscious palate.

Meet the producer

Founded in 1692, Taylor’s is one of the oldest Port houses, renowned for blending, ageing, and bottling exceptional Ports. The Historic Collection celebrates Taylor’s heritage by highlighting distinctive single-cask or specially selected wines, each with a unique story.

Production

Grapes from classic Douro varietals—including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Cão, and Tinta Amarela—are carefully harvested and vinified using traditional methods. The wines are then matured in seasoned oak casks, allowing gradual oxidative ageing which imparts tawny colour, complexity, and nuanced flavours. Each bottle in the Historic Collection represents a precise selection from Taylor’s extensive reserves.

Tasting notes

Amber-golden in colour, the nose displays dried fruits, nuts, and gentle hints of spice. On the palate, the wine is smooth and luscious, with mellow sweetness, subtle oak complexity, and a long, elegant finish.
