The 2023 release of the 25 year old from Springbank sees a change in presentation, black and gold - inverted to the variation seen on the 30 year old. This release is a 50/50 mix of maturation of bourbon/sherry. Sweet aromas with caramel and millionaire shortbread, dried pineapple and honeydew melon. The palate is gentle and refined with a smooth buttery feel. There are touches of gingerbread and liquorice along with notes of coffee grounds hinting at a slight woody element. The finish is a rounding peat smoke note.
