Sichel Margaux is an expressive red Bordeaux from the esteemed Margaux appellation in France, crafted by the historic Maison Sichel, a family‑run négociant and producer with deep roots in the region. The wine reflects Margaux’s signature finesse and elegance, marrying ripe fruit character with the refined structure typical of this gravel‑soiled Left Bank terroir.

Vineyards

The grapes are sourced from vineyards within the Margaux AOC, where well‑drained gravel and sandy soils encourage deep root development and concentrated fruit. These classic Margaux terroirs favour Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and other Bordeaux varieties, producing wines known for perfume, balance, and harmonious structure.

Winemaking

Harvested at optimal ripeness, the fruit is destemmed and fermented in temperature‑controlled vats before ageing in French oak barrels, a portion of which are new, integrating spice and texture while preserving Margaux’s hallmark finesse.

Tasting Notes

Sichel Margaux displays a deep ruby colour with violet hints. The nose is refined and expressive, showing aromas of black cherry, cassis, redcurrant, and subtle floral violet notes, intertwined with cedar and gentle spice. On the palate it is medium‑bodied yet structured, with silky tannins framing flavours of plum, tobacco, and spice, balanced by vibrant acidity and a savoury, persistent finish.
