Distilled near Balmoral in the Scottish Highlands, Royal Lochnagar earned its royal warrant after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert visited the distillery in 1848. This 12-year-old expression is matured in oak casks, offering a gentle yet characterful profile that reflects its noble origins.

The nose is creamy and aromatic, with hints of hay, malted barley, mixed citrus peels, brown sugar and wood chips. There’s a subtle earthiness and a touch of lychee-like acidity that adds intrigue. On the palate, it’s smooth and medium-bodied, revealing flavours of light toffee, boat varnish, linseed oil and putty, with a faint nutty sweetness and spicy undertones.
