Redbreast is the definitive expression of Single Pot Still Irish whiskey, a style that has been safeguarded and nurtured at Midleton Distillery for almost two centuries. Made from a mash bill of malted and unmalted barley sourced from farms in the Munster region, and using soft, clear water from the Dungourney River, Redbreast is recognised as the world's most awarded Single Pot Still whiskey and a living legacy of Irish distilling tradition.

Distillery and Maturation

Redbreast PX Edition is triple distilled in the traditional Single Pot Still style before an initial maturation in Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks. The whiskey is then re-casked into Pedro Ximénez hogsheads from the southern tip of Spain for a final period of maturation, adding a layer of luscious sweetness and dried fruit complexity that sets this expression apart from the rest of the Redbreast family. Bottled at 46% ABV.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Hints of fruit, warm spices, and toasted nuts combine with the subtly sweet aroma of Pedro Ximénez sherry seasoned casks.
