First launched in 1939 as the brand name given to the pot still whiskey supplied by Jameson to whiskey bonders, it all but disappeared when distillery bottling became the norm in 1968, before being relaunched in the 1990s to widespread critical acclaim. Made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley, triple distilled in copper pot stills at Midleton Distillery, and matured for a minimum of 12 years in a combination of Oloroso sherry casks and bourbon barrels, it is a rare treat for the connoisseur of fine Irish whiskey.
