Rathfinny Wine Estate, Classic Cuvée Brut is an elegant English sparkling wine from the South Downs in East Sussex. Crafted exclusively from estate-grown grapes, the blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier is sourced from south-facing vineyards planted on free-draining silty clay loam over chalk, providing excellent ripening conditions and mineral complexity. The wine is produced using the traditional method, with extended lees ageing to develop richness and depth.

Meet the producer

Founded in 2010 by Mark and Sarah Driver, Rathfinny Wine Estate is a family-owned estate in the South Downs, just three miles from the English Channel. The estate’s 91 hectares of vineyards are managed sustainably, and Rathfinny is certified B Corp, reflecting their commitment to people and the planet.

Production

Grapes are hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed to preserve purity. Base wines are fermented in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, followed by malolactic conversion. The blended cuvée undergoes extended lees ageing for richness and complexity, before disgorgement with a low dosage to balance freshness and elegance.

Tasting notes

Bright and expressive, with aromas of grapefruit, red apple, and brioche. The palate is focused and creamy, with zesty acidity, subtle biscuity notes, and a refreshing, long finish.
