Since founding his winery in 2004, Rafael Palacios has become one of Spain's most admired white wine producers, and Louro do Bolo is the wine that put him on the map. The 25-year-old vines, grown at over 600 metres on sandy granitic soils with clay deposits, yield fruit of exceptional aromatic intensity and minerality. This is Godello at its most compelling — textural, expressive, and built to age, yet utterly delicious right now.

Vineyard & Production

Grapes are harvested from steep, terraced vineyards and gently pressed to preserve purity. Fermentation takes place in 35-hectolitre French oak foudres, followed by four months of lees ageing before bottling. Intervention is kept to a minimum throughout, allowing the terroir and the variety to speak for themselves.

Tasting Notes

Lemon-coloured with golden highlights, the nose is expressive and layered — lemon zest, ripe stone fruit, and fennel lead, with a distinctive saline edge that speaks to the granitic soils. On the palate, the wine is textural and fruit-forward, with a long, mineral finish that lingers with real elegance.
