Bacalhôa (formerly Aliança) is one of Portugal’s largest and most progressive producers, with 600 hectares across five regions, committed to high-quality, expressive wines.

Production
The estate at Vila Nova de Tazém, Gouveia county, is planted on poor granite soils. The wine is matured for 12 months in French (80%) and Russian (20%) oak barrels, allowing for integrated oak influence while preserving the fruit’s purity.

Tasting notes
Lifted aromas of wild black fruit complemented by subtle spice and smoky notes. The palate shows black cherry, mocha, and a firm structure, balanced by vibrant acidity, finishing fresh with herbal and savory black fruit complexity.
