Bruichladdich's Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2014 celebrates Islay with a single malt whisky crafted entirely from barley grown on the island. This malt, not just flavourful but evocative of place, showcases the delicate balance for which Port Charlotte is renowned – fruit and smoke.

The nose opens with malty notes reminiscent of digestive biscuits and dying embers, followed by a sweet wave of vanilla, honey, toffee, and crème brûlée. As it breathes, fruity tones emerge – lemon rind intertwined with peat smoke, leading to grapefruit, ripe melon, peach, and crisp red apple. The signature Port Charlotte maritime note mingles with wood spice, nutmeg, and cinnamon, creating a complex and deeply satisfying single malt experience.
