Polgoon is a family‑run vineyard and orchard on the outskirts of Penzance, known for its sustainable approach and hands‑on craftsmanship. Since planting their first vines in the mid‑2000s, they’ve become one of Cornwall’s most respected producers, celebrated for wines that reflect the region’s maritime climate and unique terroir.

Production

Grapes are hand‑picked at peak ripeness and pressed gently to preserve aromatic delicacy. Fermentation is carried out using only the wild yeasts naturally present on the grape skins and in the winery, allowing the wine to develop its own individual character. Ageing on fine lees adds texture and subtle complexity without diminishing freshness.

Tasting Notes

Aromas of gooseberry, lime zest and elderflower mingle with hints of fresh herbs and a touch of sea spray. The palate is crisp and lively, offering citrus, green apple and subtle tropical notes, supported by a clean mineral edge.
