This is the new 10 year version of Ballantruan the peated malt from Speyside distiller Tomintoul. Bottled at a rather nice strength of 50% vol it has a typical 'peat-reek' nose with gentle spice. The palate has creamy, malt flavours and gentle peat smoke. The finish is sweet, but then becoming engulfed by the smokey elements. A great peaty dram!
