Scheid Vineyards Odd Lot Pinot Noir is a vibrant and expressive red wine from California, crafted from a blend of Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Malbec, Petite Syrah, Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and other varieties. Lush aromas of black cherry and plum lead to bright red cherry and raspberry flavours, with subtle hints of mocha and toasty oak. The medium-bodied palate is balanced with silky tannins and a long, lingering finish.

Scheid Vineyards focuses on sustainable and environmentally conscious viticulture, producing wines that reflect the character of their Californian terroir. Their estate is 100% wind powered and 100% sustainably farmed, ensuring quality and ecological responsibility in every bottle.

Production

Fruit is carefully sorted, destemmed, and crushed before fermentation in stainless steel tanks at warm temperatures. Gentle punch downs are performed several times daily to extract colour and flavour. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is pressed and allowed to settle in stainless steel before racking for oak ageing.

Maturation

The wine is aged for 10 months in French oak, with 25% new barrels, imparting delicate notes of vanilla and toast while enhancing structure and complexity.

Tasting Notes

Bright ruby in colour, the wine displays aromas of black cherry and plum, with red cherry and raspberry on the palate. Soft mocha and toasted oak notes complement the fruit, while silky tannins and a persistent red fruit finish provide elegance and balance.

Pairs beautifully with BBQ pulled pork, roasted chicken, mild sausages, stuffed mushrooms, and other casual or hearty dishes.
