Meet the Producer

Mollydooker, founded by Sarah and the late Sparky Marquis, is one of Australia’s most distinctive and celebrated wineries. Known for their exuberant, fruit‑forward style and innovative vineyard practices, they craft wines that are both powerful and beautifully balanced. Their commitment to meticulous canopy management, low yields and vibrant, expressive fruit has earned them a loyal global following.

Production

Grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and handled gently to preserve their natural richness. Fermentation takes place in temperature‑controlled tanks with careful extraction to build colour, flavour and velvety tannins. The wine is then matured in a combination of American and French oak, adding subtle spice, warmth and roundness while allowing the Merlot’s plush fruit to shine. The result is a smooth, generous and impeccably polished expression of McLaren Vale Merlot.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby in colour, the wine opens with aromas of ripe plum, black cherry, blueberry and hints of chocolate and vanilla. The palate is soft, juicy and full‑bodied, offering layers of dark fruit, sweet spice and a touch of mocha.
