Meinklang Prosa Frizzante is a bright and breezy lightly sparkling rosé crafted from a blend of Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, St. Laurent, and Blaufränkisch. The wine delivers zesty summer berry aromas of raspberry, mulberry, and a hint of strawberries and cream, while the palate is crisp, dry, and vibrant with red berry fruit and a gentle frizzante sparkle. Originally created by the winemaker for her own wedding, it has become one of Meinklang’s most charming and popular rosés, perfect as an aperitif.

Meet the producer

Meinklang is a family-run biodynamic estate in Burgenland, Austria, managed by the Mitchlits family. Angela oversees winemaking, Werner manages operations, and their younger brother cares for the estate’s Angus herd, which contributes natural nutrients to the vineyards. The estate spans 55 hectares, with a holistic approach to viticulture and agriculture, creating sustainable, living soils that produce healthy, expressive vines.

Production

The grapes are fermented using only indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, large used oak barrels, or concrete eggs. The estate avoids fining or filtration, maintains very low sulphur levels, and moves wine by gravity to protect its delicate aromas and flavours. The Prosa Frizzante is closed with a crown cap to preserve its fresh, lively character.

Tasting notes

The wine shows ruby/pomegranate hues with aromas of raspberry, mulberry, and subtle strawberry cream. On the palate, it is crisp and dry with vibrant red berry flavours, lively acidity, and a delicate frizzante finish.
