Mayflies, so symbolic of the first warmth of summer, drift above New Zealand’s crystalline streams and rivers, providing food for the trout that have made this area a mecca for fly-fishermen the world over. In the same pristine environment, Mayfly wines are created—vibrant, refreshing, and pure expressions of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc that are sure to leave wine lovers hooked.

Winemaking

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures, using natural yeasts to faithfully express the single vineyard site. No oak ageing is employed, ensuring a crisp and fruit-forward style.

Tasting Note

A youthful and expressive Sauvignon Blanc, showing lifted notes of asparagus, ripe peach, and exotic fruits. The palate is fresh and deliciously crisp, with excellent natural acidity, a rounded body, and a long finish that lingers on peach and citrus tones.

Viticulture

All fruit is sourced from the single Kerseley Estate vineyard, with vines planted between 1991 and 2008. Situated in the Dillon’s Point area, just half a mile from the sea, the vineyard is managed on a VSP trellis system to optimise canopy balance and fruit quality.
