The Macallan Double Cask is a 12 year old single malt from the Highland distillery. It is aged exclusively in a mixture of sherry butts made of both European and American oak which both have a bearing on the flavour of the whisky. The American Oak provides notes of vanilla and butterscotch and these flavours are predominant. The rich fruits and sherry, flavours that Macallan is renowned for, provide a supporting backdrop that is both familir and reassuring.
