Matured initially in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels before undergoing a transformative maturation in smaller, 50-litre quarter casks, this bold spirit accelerates its interaction with oak to develop remarkable depth and warmth. Bottled without chill-filtration and at natural colour, it delivers a robust, peat-forward character tailored for fans of maritime single malts. The aromatic profile opens with a potent, inviting wave of earthy peat smoke, toasted oak, and bonfire ash, complemented by top notes of sweet vanilla, citrus oil, and charred hazelnut. On the palate, this single malt displays a rich, mouth-coating texture bursting with bold flavours of peated barley, salted butter, dark caramel, and warming ginger, underpinned by hints of dark cocoa and medicinal brine. The tasting experience finishes long, dry, and intensely smoky, leaving a satisfying trail of wood ash, cracked black pepper, and sweet oak warmth.
