This 14-year-old expression is part of Diageo’s Flora & Fauna series, which showcases lesser-known distilleries across Scotland. Inchgower, located near the mouth of the River Spey, produces a distinctive style of whisky that blends Speyside fruitiness with maritime depth. Bottled at 43% ABV, this single malt is matured in a mix of American and European oak casks and is non-chill filtered to preserve its full texture and flavour.

On the nose, it opens with rich toffee and shortcrust pastry, followed by fruit notes reminiscent of greengage tart and damson pie. As it settles, it reveals a faint metallic edge described as gun-metal, gun oil and cordite, adding intrigue to its aromatic profile. With water, the nose becomes fresher but remains elusive.

The palate is sweet and full-bodied, offering flavours of honey, citrus, cinnamon and sherry, balanced by wood spice and a touch of tobacco.
