Meet the Producer

Heaphy Vineyard is a small winery in the north-west corner of New Zealand’s South Island, in the Nelson Tasman region. With long sunshine hours, cool maritime breezes and varied soils, this is an ideal location for expressive, terroir-driven wines.

Production

Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grown in Tasman, Upper Moutere and the Waimea Plains. Grapes were cold pressed to tank for fermentation, then settled, racked and left to rest on fine lees for 8 months before gentle filtration and bottling.

Tasting Notes

A breezy maritime nose of seagrass and pink citrus leads to a palate bursting with concentrated margarita zest, green and red apple. The wine has a rich mouthfeel, fine leesy texture and a long, saline finish. Like a sunny walk by the sea.

Perfect with scallops seared in butter, chilli prawn linguine, or goats’ cheese and roast red pepper salad.
