This 10-year-old expression is part of Diageo’s Flora & Fauna series, which highlights lesser-known distilleries. Glenlossie, located near Elgin in Speyside, is typically used in blends, but this bottling showcases its refined single malt character. Bottled at 43% ABV, it’s matured in a mix of bourbon and refill casks, offering a clean, balanced profile.

The nose opens with vinous notes reminiscent of a well-stocked cocktail cabinet, followed by light sponge cake aromas and fresh fruit like plums and kiwi. With water, it becomes estery and solvent-like, revealing a fruit salad of oranges, apples, plums and pears, along with a hint of coconut milk and sweet tobacco.

On the palate, it’s sweet and fruity, with flavours of barley sugar, citrus peel and gentle oak, supported by a creamy mouthfeel and subtle spice. The finish is long and dry, with lingering oak tannins and malt sweetness.
