Geoff Merrill Wines was founded by Geoff Merrill, a lifelong South Australian winemaker with deep roots in the Barossa Valley and Mount Hurtle region. Awarded the Jimmy Watson Trophy in 2005, Geoff is celebrated for producing wines of precision, depth, and regional identity.

Production

Sourced from rolling hillside vineyards near the coast, the grapes are carefully harvested and vinified to capture freshness and varietal expression. Ageing and careful maturation develop the wine’s complex, layered profile, balancing fruit, spice, and earthy notes.

Tasting notes

Deep, intense ruby in colour. The nose evolves with aeration, showing black pepper, herbs, clove, and stewed plums, followed by aged notes of dark soy, leather, chocolate, and roast beef gravy. The palate is fresh and structured, with spice, developed berry fruits, hints of coffee, and savory complexity.
