Launched in Britain over 40 years ago, Bin 27 is crafted from a selection of reserve Ports, drawn from Fonseca’s estates and carefully chosen independent growers. Bin 27 is blended for consistency and bottled ready to drink, offering immediate enjoyment.

Meet the producer

Fonseca, one of the historic houses of the Douro Valley, is renowned for its Vintage and Reserve Ports. The winery maintains close relationships with independent growers to ensure the highest quality grapes, while combining traditional craftsmanship with modern blending expertise to produce consistently expressive Ports.

Production

Selected reserve Ports undergo fermentation and are aged in large seasoned oak vats to enhance smoothness, complexity, and structure, while retaining bright fruit flavours. Blended for consistency, the wine is bottled once it reaches optimal balance, ready for immediate consumption.

Tasting notes

Bin 27 shows a deep, youthful ruby colour. The nose is intense and richly fruity, with aromas of blackberry, cassis, cherry, and plum, interwoven with subtle spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and rounded, with a velvety texture and mouth-filling tannins. Juicy black fruit flavours linger into a long, luscious finish.

Food match

Ideal with chocolate and berry desserts, Bin 27 is also excellent with high-cocoa chocolate, brownies, truffles, or soft ripe cheeses.
