Description
Description
False Bay Whole Bunch Cinsault Mourvèdre Rosé is a pale, savoury, and textural rosé from low-yielding coastal vineyards in South Africa, crafted with minimal intervention by False Bay Vineyards, founded by Paul Boutinot of Waterkloof. Old bush-vine Cinsault from Stellenbosch and Swartland, with a touch of Mourvèdre, is delicately whole-bunch basket pressed to capture only the purest juice, then wild-fermented in stainless steel and large wooden foudres. The result is a beautifully balanced rosé with vibrant summer fruit, refreshing minerality, and a clean, dry finish.
Why You'll Love It
This is whole-bunch pressed rosé from False Bay Vineyards, the project of Paul Boutinot of Waterkloof, dedicated to producing authentic wines with minimal intervention from sustainably farmed vineyards. Sourced primarily from old bush-vine Cinsault in Stellenbosch and Swartland — varieties and sites that produce naturally low yields and concentrated, characterful fruit — with a small proportion of Mourvèdre from Stellenbosch adding savoury depth. The grapes are hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed, with fermentation using wild yeast in a combination of stainless steel and large wooden foudres. The wine rests on its lees for at least three months before bottling, developing texture and complexity. No additions are made other than sulphur. Vegan-friendly and sustainably produced. This is South African rosé with genuine character, pale elegance, and minimal-intervention conviction.
