Fabrizio Vella is a passionate Sicilian winemaker dedicated to producing wines that are both personal and expressive of his homeland. Focusing on indigenous varieties such as Catarratto and Nero d’Avola, and embracing organic winemaking practices, he has created a range of wines that are fresh, lively, and authentic to Sicily.

Viticulture

The grapes are harvested by hand from vineyards situated at 350–450 metres above sea level, where cooler night-time temperatures help preserve vital acidity. Yields are naturally limited by the local winds and climate, averaging around 80 quintals per hectare. Early harvesting ensures bright, fresh wines with clean fruit flavours.

Winemaking

The first pressing is fermented in 50hl acacia wooden barrels. A soft second pressing is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 14 days, during which malolactic fermentation occurs to add texture and complexity.

Tasting Note

This natural wine shows a complex nose of citrus fruit, lemon zest, and citrus blossoms, complemented by subtle tropical fruit, herbs, and sweet spice notes. The palate is fresh and crisp, with a beautiful mineral finish.

Food Matching

Pairs wonderfully with chickpea soup or traditional Sicilian pasta aciutta.
