Vineyards

Grapes for Kai Carmenere are sourced from the MAX V vineyard, situated 60 km from the Pacific Ocean on an alluvial plain along the southern bank of the Aconcagua River. The region experiences warm days tempered by cool evening breezes, creating slow, even ripening. The vineyard soils are deep clay to clay-loam with a high stone content, ensuring excellent drainage, while the coarse alluvial subsoil contributes to concentration and minerality.

Winemaking

The grapes are harvested at optimal phenolic ripeness and carefully vinified to preserve freshness and intensity. The winemaking process emphasizes gentle extraction, maintaining the vibrant black fruit and spice profile, while refining tannins and structure.

Tasting Notes

Kai Carmenere shows a very deep, intense purple colour. The nose is complex, with aromas of black fruits, black pepper, paprika, rosemary, black olives, incense, and hints of cigar box, dark chocolate, and fresh-roasted coffee. On the palate, it is lush and ample, with good acidity, very fine tannins, and a long, silky finish of remarkable persistence.
