Dunville and Co was founded in Belfast in 1808 and at its peak was one of the largest whiskey producers in Ireland, before closing in 1936. Tasting Notes

Nose: Apricots, grapefruit, and toasted almonds open up to fresh green cooking apples, before warming to apple tatin, lightly spiced calvados caramel creme, and a dark fruit compote. Palate: Freshly picked green apples, fruit sorbet, and soft orchard fruit salad, then raisins, figs, and stewed dates from the PX sherry cask influence, alongside sweet malt, light marzipan sponge cake, and a splendid candied orange grace note. Finish: Clean malt interspersed with vanilla panna cotta, dried tropical fruits, clove, oak spice, and a lingering of PX sherry.

Perfect Pairings

Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water. The PX sherry influence pairs beautifully with dark fruit cake, Medjool dates, and aged Manchego. An exceptional after-dinner dram.
