Domini Veneti Marco Polo Appassimento Rosso  hails from the Veneto region of northern Italy and is made using the appassimento technique, where grapes are partially dried before fermentation to intensify flavour and structure. The result is a bold, smooth red with generous fruit and spice, balanced by soft tannins and a lingering finish. Aged in wood, it offers a modern take on a classic Italian style.

Meet the producer

Domini Veneti is the premium label of Cantina Valpolicella Negrar, a historic cooperative winery founded in 1933. Known for its dedication to quality and terroir expression, Domini Veneti produces wines that reflect the richness of the Valpolicella and Veneto regions.

Production

Grapes—primarily Corvina, with Corvinone, Rondinella, and other local varieties—are hand-harvested and dried for around 60 days to concentrate sugars and aromas. After gentle pressing and fermentation, the wine undergoes maceration and full malolactic fermentation, followed by aging in oak barrels to enhance complexity and texture.

Tasting notes

Deep ruby red with garnet reflections. The nose reveals aromas of cherry, plum, vanilla, and sweet spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and round, with soft tannins, notes of ripe red and black fruits, chocolate, and a long, spicy finish.

Food match

Ideal with roasted meats, aged cheeses, or rich pasta dishes. A great companion to hearty winter meals or special occasions.
