Pellehaut L’Été Gascon Blanc is a fresh and expressive white wine from Gascony, crafted by Martin and Mathieu Béraut, who manage a historic family estate that has thrived for 400 years. The vineyard combines vines, cattle breeding (Blonde d’Aquitaine), and cereals, creating a rich biodiversity and a harmonious agricultural ecosystem. The Pyrenees mountains provide a unique microclimate with long, warm summers that allow grapes to over-ripen while preserving aromatic freshness, producing wines with delicate aromas and a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity.

Vineyards

The wine is made from Gros Manseng and Chardonnay, grown in Gascony’s sunny, temperate conditions, known locally as “L’Été Gascon.” This long growing season ensures full ripeness while maintaining freshness and aromatic intensity.

Winemaking

Grapes undergo pre-fermented maceration at cold temperatures and are vinified with indigenous yeasts. Fermentation is stopped by cold, and the Gros Manseng component is aged on lees to enhance texture and complexity. The wine has a residual sugar level of 35 g/L, providing a balanced sweetness.

Tasting Notes

The wine shows a straw yellow colour with golden highlights. The nose is expressive, with dominant notes of exotic fruits and white-fleshed fruits. On the palate, flavours of peach and pineapple give way to a grapefruit citrus finish. Liveliness and sweetness are beautifully balanced, creating a fresh, elegant, and delicious wine.
