District 7 Chardonnay comes from the cooler winegrowing regions of Monterey County, where brisk wind and foggy conditions produce grapes with exceptional character, texture, and structure. The vineyards are planted on well-draining bluffs, benches, and hillsides, giving the wine a distinctive profile. The grapes are harvested in the early morning to capture optimal flavor and acidity, then cold-fermented in small lots and aged with a portion in stainless steel tanks and a portion in new French oak barrels. The result is a medium-bodied, soft, and balanced Chardonnay with bright fruit, hints of butter, and a subtle, lingering oak finish.

Production

Grapes are hand-harvested in the early morning, sorted, crushed, and cold-fermented in small lots. Aging occurs in stainless steel and French oak to enhance freshness, texture, and varietal character.

Tasting notes

The nose shows fresh and extroverted aromas of yellow apple, pear, and citrus with subtle coconut, vanilla, and toasty oak. The palate is medium-bodied and soft, with bright fruit, gentle buttery notes, and a lingering oak finish.
