Willowglen Gewurztraminer Riesling is a harmonious blend of Traminer and Riesling from the Riverina region of Australia. The wine displays intense tropical notes, with the sweet, white, soft pulp of lychee complemented by delicate hints of rose water. On the palate, the richness of the Gewurztraminer is balanced by the crisp, citrusy line of Riesling, creating a generous and well-structured wine.

Willowglen Wines is dedicated to sustainable winemaking practices, focusing on producing expressive, approachable wines that reflect the unique character of their Riverina vineyards.

Production

Grapes are carefully managed in the vineyard to ensure clean ripening. Following harvest, a specialised yeast strain isolated by the Institut Oenologique de Champagne is used to preserve and highlight the varietal aromas. Fermentation is completed over 10-14 days in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness and purity of fruit.

Tasting notes

The wine opens with aromatic tropical fruit, lychee, and rose water, with a palate that balances richness and citrusy brightness from Riesling. It is semi-dry, with vibrant acidity providing lift and balance.

Ideal with Asian and spicy dishes such as chicken curry or pad Thai, and soft cheeses including Brie, Camembert, or Feta.
